For all we know, there are numerous, if not, tons, of causes for acne. Unlike what many would think, there is no direct connection between diet and acne. But with that said, a healthy diet plays a major role for the well-being and over-all health of an individual. You are what you eat. Whatever it is, it clearly translates often times physically on the body. There are several foods that may trigger acne, but it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone needs to avoid them. We each have our own metabolisms. What may react with one person may be different with another. It's always best to consult your doctor about the foods that are specifically good for you. It is important to identify the foods that may trigger an acne breakout and then try to avoid them completely.

Acne causing Foods

More than often, the common cause for an acne breakout is due to allergies. If your body is allergic to a particular food, continuous reasons take place in the body releasing a lot of toxins. This usually leads to skin inflammation that in turn results to clogged pores, thereby causing acne. Some other foods cause cystic acne which is very difficult to cure. As mentioned on the previous paragraph, it is very difficult to identify a detailed list of foods that cause acne. The reason is because the reaction of the food may be different to other people.

Here are a few common food examples that may lead to the causes or triggering of acne.

Red Meat

This popular food is notorious for causing acne in many people. Animal proteins are difficult to digest as compared to vegetable proteins. In some cases, the oil waste product from Red Meat may be released through the skin causing clogged pores that leads to acne. You should also remember that Red Meat has hormones that can effectively jump your hormone levels that may trigger acne.

Dairy Products

Some researchers claim that ingesting dairy products may have a negative impact on the skin. Milk is one of the more popular dairy products that can lead to an acne breakout. This is mainly due to the fat content and hormones present in Milk. However, not everyone who drinks milk suffers from acne problems. Excessive consumption of dairy products like Cheese may also likely worsen the condition of acne.

Eggs

Eggs have been known to cause more than one type of skin allergy and Acne is one of them. The problematic part of the Egg is the yolk, which contains a lot of fat and some elements that may lead to Acne. You can still eat the Egg white but it would be much better to avoid Egg altogether if you want to avoid any Acne problems.

Processed Foods

No one really ever knows what's going into that can of Pork and Beans you bought from the supermarket. Processed foods contain preservatives and additives that may prove harmful to your skin and cause acne. You should also take not that processed foods with refined sugar or artificial sweeteners can be harmful to acne prone skin.

Grains

Who would have thought that Grains like Wheat would be a no-no for people with acne? Wheat and other grains are converted by our body into sugars which are quickly consumed. When these excess sugars are spewed out from our skin pores, bacteria and other micro parasites tend to feed on them and this causes acne. Try avoiding products made out of grains like biscuits, bread, pasta and noodles.

Caffeine

I'd hate to say it but drinks like Coffee, Tea and other Cola drinks are known to be the culprits for some acne outbreaks. Chocolate, another guilty pleasure is also a major source of acne problems. This is because the caffeine in them increases hormone production therefore increasing the likely hood of a major acne breakout.

Don't get discouraged by reading this article. It's not like I'm telling you to become a vegetarian! All it amounts to is discipline. Watching what you eat and making sure that you don't go overboard kn owning that you want to control that acne problem. As always, you should consult your doctor or a skin care specialist to give you advice on the right foods.
